What is JHP?

Journalism History Podcast (JHP) is a national podcast founded in October 2018 by Teri Finneman from the University of Kansas and Nick Hirshon from William Patterson University in association with the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) History Division and Journalism History. Journalism History is a quarterly published peer-reviewed journal. JHP’s current mission is “to reexamine the stories you thought you knew and the stories you were never told.” The podcast covers a variety of topics such as wartime propaganda, food journalism, the relationship between Abraham Lincoln and the press to the rise of Univision and Telemundo. With a broad range of journalism and media topics on the podcast, an expert guest is typically featured. Additionally, JHP reviews mass communication history books on their website.

Objective: I worked with the Journalism History Podcast team for my 400 level
Media Campaign Strategy course. Our team wanted to Establish a clear brand visual identity that is recognizable across all JHP platforms. Increase brand awareness with journalism and media enthusiasts within the targeted regions. Make the company more recognizable by ensuring brand logo and the JHP identity is the same on all platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Podcast, etc.)

The logo was in collaboration with Nataly Davies, Account Director & Social Media/Web Content/Events Coordinator, Kaylin Lechner, Media, and Partnerships Director and I was the Creative Director.
