What is The McConnell Mansion?

The McConnell Mansion is a historic museum in Moscow Idaho. The museum is a house that has been standing since1886. William J. McConnell was a senator from Idaho that lived in the house first. The McConnell Mansion is now open for tours and events.

Objective: Design a historic sign for the McConnell Mansion with informational signage to go with.

 

This project was created for my Graphic Design Studio class, spring 2021. What makes my signage unique is the typeface I chose. I was inspired by the typeface called “Royal Majesty.” This typeface was designed in the 1800s. It is elegant and decorative, just like the McConnell Mansion. I added the half flower ornaments by my McConnell Mansion design to give it character to go with the nature of the outside of the house.
